Annette Gates

Athens, GA

Annette is a ceramic artist and part time instructor living in Athens Georgia. Originally from Colorado Annette received her BFA in 1993 from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Masters of Fine Art in Ceramics from the university of Georgia in 1999. Annette has been in several residency programs, including the International Ceramic Center in Guldagergard Denmark, 2002, the Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, New York, 2002, and the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap Georgia, 2004. Institutions with which Annette has taught include the Atlanta College of Art, Emory University, Elon University in North Carolina, and the University of Georgia, including the UGA studies abroad program in Cortona, Italy. She regularly instructs workshops at Arrowmont School of Art and Craft, Mudfire clay center in Atlanta, Good Dirt in Athens and the Hambidge Center in North Georgia. Her work is exhibited locally and nationally in galleries and craft centers.
